Windows 7には標準メーラーは装備されなくなったため、Windows LiveパッケージのWindows Live Mailを使っていました。
Messengerやその他の機能は面倒なのでインストールしなかったのですが、今日の朝にパソコンを立ち上げると更新ファイルとして「Windows Live Essentials 2011が更新できます・・」と通知バーに出てそのまま更新作業に。。

てっきり Windows Live Mailのアップデートかと思ったら、写真、ムービー、インスタント メッセージング、電子メール、ブログ作成、ファミリーセーフティ、ファイル同期をパワーパックとして出しているものらしく、せっかくMailだけインストールしたのに全部入ってしまいました。

余計なことすんなって感じ。

このWindows Live Essentials 2011の正式リリースは２０１０年１０月１日なので、なぜ今頃って感じもあります。
更にいうとMicrosoftの製品群でLiveだのなんだのよくわからない感がありますので、結構な人がApple Mac (Macintosh) のOSアップデートが安価で標準アプリなどのすっきり感などを好んでパソコン購入しているようです。

ちなみにWindows Live Essentials 2011をインストールしているとMessengerのインストール時にFacebookか、最近流行り始めたLinkedinと連動できるようです。

どっちもやってないので詳しくはわかりませんが・・。
